Discipline, Take 2
Discipline continues to be an ongoing hot topic. This week at Governance Council, building reps brought in school discipline plans for review. Remember, regardless of what your building’s plan says, the contract must be enforced above all. That means that the classroom teacher has the right to remove disruptive students from the classroom–even if the school’s discipline plan is contradictory.
Freedom Foundation Requests for Information
You may have received an email from the Oregon Education Association last week informing you of the fact that the Freedom Foundation, a known anti-union group whose main goal is to privatize public schools, are making information requests of school districts regarding teachers’ personal contact information. You can copy and paste opt out language here.
